Bernard
Joseph Tone, 75, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital
after a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, to the late Bernard and Inez
Tone. He graduated from Christian Brother's Academy in 1953 where he lettered
in basketball and football. He joined the Army in 1954 and served during the
Korean Conflict. Bernard retired in 1993 after serving 34 years with the
Syracuse Police Department as a patrol officer. He was a member of the
Pastime Athletic Club and Holy Trinity Church. He was predeceased by his
brother, Lawrence Tone. Bernard is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Tone;
children, Bernard (Mary) Tone, Steven (Christina) Tone and Sheila (Michael)
Welch all of Marcellus; brother, Brian (Linda) Tone of Coronado, CA;
grandchildren, Maggie, Joe and Billy Tone, AJ and Sami Tone, Riley, Frankie,
Steven and Micker Welch and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services
will be private. The family would like to extend their appreciation and
gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital MICU for their compassionate
care of our husband and father. FARONE AND SON FUNERAL HOME is in care of
